Our Colombia Gaitania took silver at the Global Coffee Awards

At the European edition of the Global Coffee Awards, our Colombia Gaitania filter coffee took silver. At the same competition Shavi was named the national winner for Georgia.

Why it is more than a medal

Judging at the Global Coffee Awards is blind. There is no packaging in front of the panel, no logo, no brand name - only the cup. They have no idea who roasted it.

That matters because marketing cannot help you there. A good result means exactly one thing: an international sensory panel scored that cup highly.

What a medal actually measures

The final cup is the end of a long chain. Before it come the way the farmer picked the harvest, the processing, the storage, the shipping - and only then the roast profile.

If any single link is weak, the panel hears it. So a result like this is a verdict on the whole process rather than on one lucky roast.

What this has to do with Tashkent

The same company, the same principles for choosing green coffee and the same roasting standards apply here. What comes off the drum on Buyuk Turon is the product of that same approach.

For the cafes we supply, that is not boasting - it is a checkable benchmark. The coffee arriving at your counter comes out of a system an independent panel has already scored.

And one more thing

That same year Shavi was named Best Coffee Shop at the European Coffee Trip Awards. The medal is about the coffee; that one is about the people - the team behind the counter pouring it every day.
